Black and white photograph of the steel frame that supported the concrete counterweight for the Causeway bridge before it was removed following an October 1966 accident that damaged the lifting mechanism. The view is from the South River side of the bridge looking towards Sayreville.
The back of the photograph has a handwritten note that reads, "South River Bridge." A date is also stamped in red, "Nov 28,1966."
