The year is 1720 South River was founded Immigrants from tall ships finally landed Some Indians occupied the land Where the river ran fast and deep Alas a place to start anew A place to reap not weep Soil and rubble Toil and Trouble All who came persevered Now it can be said South River came alive Thanks to all who preceeded us From all of us who reside Original poem by Eleanore K. Munck Written to commemorate South River's 275th anniversary in 1995 . A star that appears to have been drawn with blue marker is to the right of the text with the number 275 in the middle. Printed on paper measuring 7-1/2"x10-3/4" and stored in plastic sheet protector
