the Kees family had already been in the spot of Standard before it was called that; Frank's father worked for the Longino Lumber Co. as a a driver for the bull team before the mill was bought by Central Louisiana Lumber Co. (1906); his father then ran the steam loader (log loader) Central LA Lbr brought in; he eventually was in timber before retiring in 1940; the family also owned a dairy farm and sold their wares to the commissary of Standard; gives history of the area and roads as the population grew; Kees' gives a walkthrough Standard and surrounding areas by way of visiting places and those that lived there
