the Roberts plots (C-1-4) had longleaf pine saplings ; found that most longleaf pines began to borne cones around the ages 30-35, if treated with fire; Plot C-1 was not treated with fire and was found to have cones by the age of 19; Hardtner found them on Aug 23; these saplings came from the call crop of Oct 1913; this plot has been observed by W. W. Ashe, Forester and Assistant U. S. Forest Service (June 1909), J. H. Foster, Assistant Chief of Cooperation U. S. Forest Service (May 1910), W. R. Mattoon, Forest Examine of U. S. Forest Service ( Jan 1914), Kopman, Louisiana Conservation Commission (July 1914), S. T. Dana, U. S. Forest (Jan 1915), and W. R. Mattoon (May 1916); have been studied by H. H. Chapman and R. C.
