Aaron and Ara married sometime in 1926. Aaron was a worker in the planer mill and eventually assistant mill wright. Ara was a school teacher and eventually principal of the negro school at Long Leaf. They raised Percival S. Sims-Bell, who is the mother of Connie Chenevert, and Percival's older brother Herbert Sims.
