Description

Three .50 Caliber bullets found buried in the Alexandria, LA Army Airfield. These rounds would have been fired by training bomber pilots during World War Two. The Army Airfield in Alexandria, LA was located off of what is now Highway LA-28 West. The two full bullets were found buried in dirt and the damaged bullet was found in a nearby tree.

Context

These bullets show the weaponry and caliber used by World War II soldiers and also how well preserved they can be when undisturbed in nature.
