Description

An olive green, type 1 Garrison cap is size 7 and dated Feb. 19, 1941. Likely made of wool or cotton twill, it is foldable with straight sides.

Context

The garrison cap was worn by various armed forces during WW2, particularly the U.S and Italian militaries (called a bustina in Italy). Officers often wore insignia on the left and right sides of the cap to denote things like rank. This particular cap has none, but there is a lot of information on the tag.
