This book cost $6000 as well as much time in preparing many of the articles by Henry E. Hardtner. It was my intention to assist in the establishment of a paper for Pineville and I agreed to subscribe $500 stock. From time to time for various reason I furnished money to carry on. The venture was a complete failure. However there are many good articles from my pen and I hope my children will preserve the book.

When the paper failed, all that was left for me were the papers which I had bound.Material/Technique
