Many of Lorri Acott’s impressionist sculptures depict tall, slender figures to represent “rising above” life's challenges. Conversations with Myself features a tall slender figure bent over looking at a smaller figure. According to Acott, the taller figure is representative of the spirit or higher self, and the smaller figure represents fear and doubt. As a pair, the figures represent someone seeking wisdom from their inner self to find clarity. Acott hopes that as viewers stand by the smaller figure and look up they are reminded of their own greatness.
