Rudy Pozzatti graduated from the University of Colorado in 1948 and received his Master of Fine Arts there in 1950. Following a graduate assistant teaching fellowship at the University of Colorado, he became an instructor in painting, graphic arts, and design at the University of Nebraska at Lincoln, and in 1954 was promoted to assistant professor. His work is represented in some thirty public collections. Of the numerous awards he has received the most important was a Fulbright Grant for one year's study in Italy, where he was affiliated with Istituto d'Arte in Florence in 1952 and 1953. Pozzatti’s works are usually busy and have a lot going on. He gives you a lot to look at and this print highlights that unique style of his. We can see what seems to be a vast Italian cityscape. Although this piece was created long after his time in Italy, we can see the influence the magnificent Italian architecture had on his art. There are hints of domes, long stairways, and bridges scattered through this print.
