A page from the Jim Jones Scrapbook kept by his mother Thelma Jones with 2 newspaper clippings and 2 letters pasted to the folio. Written at the top of page by Thelma Jones: "Friends" and "Running the rapids---Jim and Tony" 1. A newspaper clipping from the Iron Country Record dated September 22,1966. It highlights a trip Jim Jones took with his freind Antony Stocks down the Colorado River with a photo of Jim Jones going through the "Haystack" rapids. It qoutes Jones saying about the trip: "Nowhere else on earth can one get so near to the collosal heartbeat of elementary nature as one can in the mammoth canyons of the Colorado, especially in the deep and almost vertical canyons of the beautiful Cataract." 2. A newspaper clipping that is a portion of a expose about choreographer Jean Woodbury and her life in Salt Lake City. 3. A letter from Elder J. Nelson to Thelma and Elton Jones dated April 21, 1961. Eleder Nelson mentions he often thinks of "your son and my dear friend 'James.'" 4. A letter to Thelma Jones from Mona Harding dated Saturday 19, 1960. The letter is sent from New York notifying Thelma that Mona Harding had dinner with Jim Jones and his brother Scott. She describes them as very "Newyorkish" and expresses her joy at visiting New York and visiting with the boys.
