A page from the Jim Jones Scrapbook kept by his mother Thelma Jones. Pasted to the folio are an envelope with a letter written Jim Jones in 1948, a postcard of Grand Canyon lodge, and telegram from Jim Jones to his parents when he was a bartender at the Grand Lodge.
1. A letter from Jim Jones to his parents dated June 20, 1948. Jim Jones tells his parents about his experiences as a worker in the kitchen at the Grand Canyon Lodge, describing his co-workers as "vulger" smokers, and expressing his lonliness in the position.
2. A post card of the Grand Canyon Lodge. Thelma Jones has written at the bottom of the postcard: "Original Lodge before the fire."
3. A telegram from Jim Jones to his parents, ca. 1960-61, where he describes a man "driving a Rolls Royce bought Domingo with two one hundred dollar" bills. He claims he "fainted on the barroom floor."Collection
