A page from the Salt Lake Tribune dated November 21, 1965. In George Dibble's art column titled: "Abstract Expressionists Paint Selves in Corner," Dibbles highlights Jim Jones' exhibition at the State Bank of Southern Utah. He writes: "An outstanding group of figure and landscape studies by Jim F. Jones is being displayed at the State Bank of Southern Utah through Nov. 30th. The Cedar City figure and portrait artist who has spent the past four winters in Mexico enters the landscape field with two landscapes in oil. One, "Earthbound" catches the drama of man against the awesome expanse of field and sky. A few solitary fenceposts increase the allure of unseen horizons beyond the rise. The second, "Haystack" portrays the vital energy and fun enjoyed by boys at play."
