Scope and Content

Shmuel Kaminetzky called to report on recent events in Dnepropetrovsk and to explain why he had not responded to fax messages sent to him by Betsy Gidwitz earlier in the month. The first fax, sent during the first week in July, was not received (as Betsy Gidwitz had assumed when a subsequent telephone bill showed no record of the fax) and the second fax (sent in the middle of July after Betsy Gidwitz received the telephone bill in question) arrived while Shmuel was in England. The July faxes covered a number of questions, some of which related to issues discussed with Asher Ostrin and Stuart Saffer of the Joint Distribution Committee when Betsy Gidwitz was in Jerusalem in June. Other points concerned current events and follow-up to Betsy Gidwitz's visit to Dnepropetrovsk in May.
