2002.021.015Description
Photograph of rail engine with rail ties piled beside tracks. Engine has Booth-Kelly #2 stenciled on side. Undated
Written provenance: "No. 2 Spot engine. This is the train that did all the work. It was the only engine in Wendling. One Christmas it saved Jack's life. The snow was 3 feet deep and his appendix had ruptured a week or so before. They hooked up No. 2 to a caboose and came up to get him. They took him to Eugene Clinic. The doctor there said the only thing that probably saved him was that he walked 3 miles to school each way every day. Since there was 1 in his class he walked down to Wendling."Collection
