A logging donkey with a boom clearing a forest area for Booth-Kelly camp 26 (a construction camp) above Wendling on the south eastern slope of Mt. Nebo, undated
Written provenance: "Donkey with clam shovel. This was operated by Mike Palialak. It opened up all the roads, laid the foundation for the whole operation, all the spurs, miles of tracks, everything. He moved all the camps, worked it all through blocks and cables. If the trains had moved'em, the homes would have been pulled all apart. He moved ours 20 miles. By the end of the trip we were all prayin' it'd hold together. He was a special friend of mine. I remember he made me a water wheel: the water would turn the wheel. I played in the river with it for hours."Photograph Details
