Scrapbook created by Virginia Almira Shaub Reynolds (1881-1964). The C. Townsend written on the back refers to Charles Augustus Townsend (1879-1955), Virgie's first husband. Drawings in scrapbook were created by her son Alfred Cadwell Townsend (1906-1990).
Content highlights: newspaper clippings about Cresswell, Springfield and surrounding area, Portland and a few national level articles (weddings, babies, obituaries, events, announcements, poems, songs, sayings, advertisements etc.). Many clippings about Townsend and Shaub families (family history resource). Also contains quilting and embroidery pattern clippings.
The scrapbook is made from an old ledger (circa 1899) containing furniture orders and/or money transactions (Cresswell).Collection
