Transcribed inscription on reverse: "Thorwald A. Nysten - Left. William E. Stevenson - Center. Norman B. Hall - Right. Taken upon Mr. Nysten's Retirement after 45 years with B.K. Presentation made by Norman Hall for the BK (Booth-Kelly) crew- luggage and a fine ingraved [sic] wrist watch. Taken December 1956. Edward L. Smith in Striped overalls."

LEFT Thorwald A. Nysten
Came to Springfield, Oregon in 1911 from ( Norway or Sweeden)
Spoke no English. Got off train and walked to Booth-Kelly Springfield Mill and was hired. Worked his way up to Superintendent. After retirement was going back to his Homeland. (Thus the luggage etc.) Died two weeks after retirement.
In middle: William E. Stevenson- Comptroller for all of Booth-Kelly (mills at Springfield, Wendling and Row River , O.P.& E. RR. in Cottage Grove. His wife "Mary Jean Steveson" [sic] was at your exhibit on logging in year 2000. She is close to 100 years old and still remembered me, gave an oral history. Bill Stevenson is dead. My Father Roger Bradbury Hall (Born 12-10-1903 -- Died 4-4-1984) was the Assitant [sic] Comptroller. My Dad worked for B-K & G.P. who bought on BK 43 yrs. On the right is me (Norman Bradbury Hall) Born 4-2-1929, I spent 17 years with BK- But I don't matter- I am more recent history and still here. 1-24-2002."Collection
