Description
Photograph of five man crew seated and sitting in front of a covered steam donkey, with stacked wood in back. Unknown location, undated
Transcribed inscription on reverse: "Crew by landing, steam donkey under shed, roofed with whatever they could find. Donkey sits on sled (sleds made of old growth timber; replaced as they wore out). The fella with thumbs in his suspenders probably split all the wood. Logs would be loaded onto the railroad flatcars from a landing like this."
