Inscription back: Oregon's Willamette Pass carries State Highway 58 over the Cascade Mountains from Eugene to connection with Central Oregon's Dalles-California Highway, U.S. 97. The route is noted for its fast access from valley areas to resorts at Crescent, Odell and adjacent lakes and the recreation abounding in the Cascades Mountains. The Route follows the south fork of the Willamette River for a great part of its length, passing though the Salt Creek Game Refuge and crossing Pengra Pass, elevation 5128 feet.
