Inscription back: 'Goodpasture Bridge, Oregon. A covered bridge is an engineering marvel. The Goodpasture Bridge uses the Howe truss developed in 1840. It uses iron stress rods to give support to the wooded truss members. This bridge was originally built in 1938-39 with its Gothic-style windows. At 165 feet, it is the 2nd longest covered bridge in Oregon. The Goodpasture Bridge is located west of Vida, Oregon, on Highway 126. A-16. Photo by Lynn Carter.
