At the top right corner, a 3-cent imprinted stamp depicting President William McKinley. Overtop, a cancellation dated April 29, 1940. At the bottom right, a purple overprint stamp depicting the Reichsalder symbol appears.

Members of the Wind family who fled Tarnów after the Nazi conquest of Poland emigrated in opposite directions. Jacob and Margot Wind, who stayed behind, sent a post card canceled March 28, 1940, to one relative at Shanghai, China, and a reply portion of a United States 3-cent-plus-3-cent message-and-reply postal card, canceled April 29, 1940, to other Wind brothers at Chicago. The stamp from the post card to Shanghai may have been removed by the German censor at Berlin. The postal card to the United States was censored at Frankfurt.Collection
