Ernst Goldschmidt was one of 46 members of the Waffen-SS who was sentenced to death for crimes committed in Dachau concentration camp. According to the document, Goldschmidt was sentenced to death by hanging for crimes including murdering surrendered prisoners of war and allied civilians. The U.S. Army mandated this court case against the Waffen-SS who murdered American soldiers at Malmedy, Belgium, on December 17, 1944. Convictions were determined on July 16, 1946, though not enough concrete evidence was provided to lead to the execution of the Waffen-SS members.
