1943 November 23, Front side - Cover from Ravensbrück women's concentration camp addressed to Eufemii Stefaniszyn's daughter Jasiu/Johanne.
Tan-green cover with printed address in German using black ink. The recipient's address is Johanne Stefaniszyn. At the top right is residue and remnants of a ripped red Detusches Reich stamp. Over top is a cancellation stamp though the right half of the stamp was removed with the red stamp. The bottom left feature a purple stamp in German which reads "Postzensurstelle f.k.L. Ravensbrück Zonsiert" or "Postal censorship office f.k.L. Ravensbrück Censored". The paper is stained brown scattered overall.

Eufemii Stefaniszyn sent this November 23, 1943, typed letter from Neu Sandez, Poland, to her daughter Jasiu (addressed as Johanne) at Ravensbrück, which ends with a penned greeting from Jasiu’s sister Stasia. The message in broken German provides news of several relatives and friends, and of family hardships and sadness. “Are you healthy? Your mother’s heart is always very anxious about you.” As always on incoming mail, the Ravensbrück censor removed the stamp to search for messages that might have been hidden beneath it.Collection
