Yellow-tan letter addressed to daughter Helena Grabowski at Ravensbrück in Fürstenberg, Germany. The document presents the recipient's address in handwritten German using black ink. At the center is a purple stamp in German which reads "Postzensurstelle f.K.L. Ravensbrück Zensiert" or "Post censorship office f.K.L. Ravensbrück censored" in English and signed in red by initials N.B. At the top is the sender's address from Hennyk Grabowski.

Hennyk Grabowski was imprisoned at Dachau while his wife Jozefa and daughter Helena were prisoners at Ravensbrück. These 1944 letters from husband to wife and father to daughter were examined and marked by censors at both camps. The Ravensbrück censors removed the stamps to search for messages that might have been hidden beneath them. Camp to camp prisoner mail is most unusual and very seldom encountered.Collection
