At the top right corner, a red 8-pfennig stamp depicting President Paul von Hindenburg facing to the left. A blue 40-groschen stamp from Austria depicting a man and woman. Overtop, a black ink cancellation dated June 11, 1938. At the bottom left, an adheisve sticker with printed text in German using black ink. An archive overlayed at the bottom edge is seen from the exhibit page. The foundation is promptly working on updating this scan.

The circular swastika cachet on the March 19, 1938, postal card celebrated Adolf Hitler’s triumphal arrival in Vienna. “Arische Firma” stamped above the name of the formerly Jewish firm on the June 11, 1938, registered cover indicated that the business had been “Aryanized.” Postage stamps and stationery of Austria remained valid until October 31, 1938, at an equivalent of 1.5 Austrian schillings to one German reichsmark. The registered cover has correct mixed franking of Austrian and German postage.Collection
