1945 March 28, Front side - Money order sent from the Netherlands to Buchenwald for recipient Geert Jan (G.J.) Blauw.
Tan money order with printed text and outline in French and German using red ink. Typed text in German using black ink is present. At the bottom left, center right, and top right are black circular cancellation stamps from Drachten dated February 27th, 1945. Additionally, there is a stamp at the bottom center dated as "27. Feb. 45". To the right is a handwritten signature in black ink. At the top of the document is an upside down postage stamp of Cornelis Tromp, a Dutch admiral (1629-1691). The stamp is blue in color and cost-30 reichsmark.

Blauw at Buchenwald, which arrived at Weimar on March 28, 1945, but probably did not reach the camp; by then mass confusion reigned as Allied armed forces approached. Drachten, Netherlands was occupied by Nazi Germany in 1945.Collection
