1944 November 23, receipt from Auschwitz concentration camp for parcel of food from Prague.

Context

Located on a main railroad line, Auschwitz could receive express parcels as well as mail. A November 23, 1944, insured railway express receipt for a 10-kilogram parcel of food and clothing shipped from Beatrix Wiesner at Prague to prisoner Richard Wiesner at Auschwitz. The 3-koruna stamp purchased insurance indemnity against loss or damage valued up to 1000 koruna.
