1940 July 24, Front side - Post card from Warsaw prosecutor to summon Jewish men and collect money.
Tan post card (appears yellow via scan) with printed text and outline in German using black ink. Typed text in black ink as the recipient's address appears. Cursive handwriting at the top left in pencil is present. There are four purple ink overprint stamps overall. The furthest bottom stamp depicts the Reichsadler. At the top right corner is a green 12-pfennig stamp with the Reichsadler. Overtop is a black ink cancellation, but the date is illegible. At the center is handwriting in red pencil or crayon. Overtop is an X marking in blue pencil. The foundation is promptly working to update this scan.

Following the initial registration of the population, Nazi authorities baited and criminalized Jews by encouraging their imagined greed. On this July 24, 1940, post card, the Warsaw prosecutor urgently summoned the addressee and four other Jewish men to his office, ostensibly to collect money. The card was forwarded, and then returned to sender as undeliverable. The 12-groschen Official stamp paid the local post card postage.Collection
