The Reichsbank was established in 1875 during the German Empire's reign. Variations of the Reichsbank were exhibited from alterations in government. After World War I and the 1919 Treaty of Versailles, Germany experienced high rates of unemployment and hyperinflation leading to bank notes valued at millions of marks, though almost worthless.
