Lejb (Leon) Erlich was one of the prisoners interned at Mauthausen concentration camp or subcamps. Erlich was also a prisoner at Auschwitz-Birkenau until the camp was liberated in 1945 by the Soviet Red Army. Erlich immigrated to the United States where he lived until his death in 1987. The tram fare card includes a pre-paid fee for a monthly operative card to board public transportation in Warsaw. The month is clarified as 12 in the bottom center on the front side. There is no year available on the card, though the picture is identical to his passport from 1948.Collection
