Description

Dr. Koch discovered Mycobacterium Tuberculosis, the cause of tuberculosis, and in 1905 won the Nobel Science prize for it. He also described Koch’s Postulates, the set of criteria needed to prove a particular disease was caused by a particular organism. Selman Waxman discovered Streptomycin in 1943, the first agent that cured tuberculosis and halted the wave of tuberculosis (consumption) in Europe in 1949.
