30"L 16" W Wool Olive drab wool Model 1917 Service coat with black cotton lining. Long sleeves, four patch pockets; five large blackened bronze buttons down front; four small buttons on pockets; two small buttons on epaulets. Two blackened bronze collar disks. Right, letter US Left, crossed cannon artillery Left arm, top to bottom: early type patch for motor transport corps. Initials MTC red/white on black felt circle. Single red small chevron denoting honorable discharge. Gold (tarnished) upside down chevron denoting six months overseas service. Note: donation included coat, puttees and gas mask. March 3 1918 30"L 16" W Conway co New York, New York Depot QM 1236abc World War I uniform, incomplete coat, puttees, gas mask. Belonged to Albert Peterson, brother of the donor. See Accession Number 1219 for the helmet. Given by Elbert Peterson in June, 1975.
