Franklin Richmond, Sept. 1871; 1285b=bustle, crescent shaped, wire circles covered with linen; straps; a=bustle; wire circles; four rows, covered with linen fabric; straps at waist band; c=blouse; white, shirred, except sleeves; 1285d=skirt; 20" waist, 39" front length; skirt to wedding ensemble of Ellen Ferson; white cheesecloth; skirt is longer in back, shirring down front of skirt; ruffle around edge; hook and eye closure of waist Bustle approx. 25 in. long; wire circles, four rows; covered with linen fabric, straps at waistband; poor condition; fabric torn over metal wire; wires rusted.
