Sepia tone postcard of the East Side Park, now known as Lincoln Park. This land was donated in 1856 by Darwin Millington. Darwin was the son of Dr. Abel Millington who came to St. Charles in 1837. Unfortunately the Dr. died in 1838 and all of his business interests, which included a flourmill located on the west side of St. Charles, went to his son Darwin. The current gazebo in the park was donated in 1988 and was designed after the original tower that adorned the Pottawatomie Park pavilion, which was constructed in 1892.Lexicon
