First Methodist Episcopal Church of St. Charles, built in 1842, by Public Subscriptions.
Basement was used as schoolroom and Thomas North, who later became a noted member of the Rock River Conference, taught a select school in this room.
The first lumber for this church was hauled by Wesley hall, Harlow Hooker, and Ira Tyler.
