Description

29"L 17" W Olive drab wool Model 1917 Service coat. Black cotton lining with maker's tag: Franklin Uniform Co, New York, contract date illegible, New York Depot QM. Four patch piockets, epaulets. Blackened bronze buttos impressed with American Eagle. Two collar disks: right US, Left, 4th army engineers. Left sleeve; top,4th infantry division. White green on olive grab diamond shape, two gold (tarnished) upside down chevrons (overseas stripes) denoting one year overseas service. Right sleeve: OD Corporal chevrons. Above left is World War I Victory Medal with four brronze battle stars denoting five awards of this medal. Gold bars on ribbon denoting 1.Aisle Marne, St. Michel. 3.Meuse Argonne 4. Defensive Sector. Multiple moth nicks overall. Franklin Uniform Co, New York. 91.41.4
