Description

Pencil chain with pencil. Chain is black beads; pencil is very small, gold with red stone in end. Attached to chain through middle of pencil. Used by Roxanna Clemens Hathaway, donor's grandmother, who lived and died in Clio, Michigan. Her husband was a Methodist minister, and she was related to Samuel Clemens (Mark Twain). 2 3/8" l. pencil holder, 48" l. chain. Given by Evelyn Oakes Maland in July, 1975.
