JOHNNY FRY'S RESTAURANT
224 North 4th
BOUDREAU'S LOUISANA SEAFOOD & STEAKS
224 North 4th
This building has been fully restored and modified as a restaurant
The entire 200 block of North 4th Street was once known as "Wholesale Row"
Per the 'Downtown St Joseph Walking Tour' booklet, the warehouse buildings were built in the early 1880s
The R L McDonald and Co occupied the Boudreaux building on the corner
They sold dry goods, notions, and gent's furnishings until 1920
The booklet goes on to say that 'Wholesale Row' is listed on the National Register of Historic Places
I remember a pawn shop occupying this building before it was Johnny Fry's
It later became Johnny Fry's Restaurant
In January 2001, Robert Boudreau opened his restaurant here
Mr Boudreau passed away February 2014
It is still open for business in 2017 and serves great seafood & steak meals
