1 BAG OF 29/KC HOPEWELL/RIM SHERDS, SLATE & CHERT PIECES, ANIMAL BONE, COPPER PIECES/RAY CO MO/SEE NOTES ATTACHED/VARIOUS SIZES Note reads: (Large stone elbow pipe on display case on 2nd shelf is said to be from this site) October 3, 1937 On the Clyde McQueen farm about three miles south of a red stuccoed school house, 1 mile east of Hardin, MO on Hy #10. The site is on both sides of the road which runs north and south and is located on the edge of the great second bottom area which reaches b ack north seven miles before the hills occur. (Burials and mounds?) This site is just north of a c ross roads. An old 1 story barn is on the west location, a shed is on the east one. Grit tempered sherds. Cross hatched and dotted rims. Animal bones in refuse. Sheet copper. Door knob pebble. Grey green stone like soap stone only it is in layers like mica. Evidence of a drilled hole on edge of one end.
