Description

The Cities of America is an Artist's Panorama by Pinckney Alston Trapier. The book is mostly reproductions of his work in color and black and white, by various mediums. Many pictures have an added explanation of the picture - where, when, and why he did it. Included is an introduction by Hereward Lester Cooke. The book is divided into sections from the far western United States, southwest and south, mid-west, to the east. There is a statement in the Foreword that the artist "did not wish to exhibit his pictures nor to sell them. He wanted, rather, to publish them in book form that the greatest possible number of people could see them and so know his America." 103/Hardbound/Illustrations.
