This 2 story commercial block building has an altered store front and upper story clad with synthetic siding
This building once housed Pittsburgh Plate Glass and a Basket Store
Then it became Bechtold & Rouse Bicycle Shop
The Bicycle shop was sold to Red Rouse and became the House of Wheels and Toys
Red Rouse ran it for many years selling hobbies, crafts and toys
Around 1990, Red sold it to Curt Gardener who renamed it Big Boy's Toys
Big Boy's Toys closed its doors in January 1997
A dress shop replaced the Hobby Shop
The dress shop suffered a terrible fire in 1998 and was remodeled
Bad Art Bistro Restaurant currently occupies the building
The restaurant offers great gourmet food in a quirky, artistiy atmosphere
Bad Art Bistro is located near the historic Missouri Theater
There used to be a tavern to the west, it was torn down after the 1998 fire
The tavern was called the Midway, then the Office, and then finally Avis Tavern
