The image is of an old check from A. Beattie, Banker in St. Joseph, Missouri, dated April 6, 187_. It is made out to Masters for the amount of nineteen dollars, specified twice as both a numeral and in words, and includes ornamental text to indicate the currency as "Dollars." There is a stamped area in the top left corner marked “STAMP” with a faded mark, and the check is printed with "Ezra A. Cook & Co., Printers, Chicago, Ill." The paper shows signs of aging with yellowing and small tears on the right side, and it is signed in cursive at the bottom by A. Beattie and another person whose name is difficult to decipher.
