Description

African Odyssey. The author, John L. Brom, set off alone on a 20,000 mile journey through Africa traveling south-east and then north to film the life of the jungle, on assignment from a film company. His means of transportation was a DKW, a small car, offered free to him by that car company if he could pass 20,000 miles on the odometer. (Another person had attempted this feat but quit before finishing due to loneliness.) The result of Brom's work was a pictorial and written record of African animals, African people, and African scenery from the 1950's. 224/Hardbound/Illustrations/Maps/Photographs.
