Bibles for Bullwhackers, Missouri Historical Review, April, 1934. Article in "Missouriana" section of this Review about Alexander Majors issuing Bibles to his freighters, pp.211-213. The article was precipitated by the sale of a Bible inscribed, from "Russell, Majors, and Waddell, 1858", which was given to an employee of the freighting firm from St. Joseph. The morals pledge the employees were required to sign is reprinted here.
