A Bibliography of Illinois Imprints, 1814-58, includes more than 3000 annotated entries of books, broadsides, pamphlets, and maps that were produced in the print shops of the territory and state of Illinois between 1814 and 1858. Included are imprints on all subjects from politics and fraternal organizations to publications by "'special' presses with a single-minded devotion for religious, social and educational causes." This bibliography was sponsored by the Chicago Historical Society, the Illinois State Historical Society, and the Newberry Library.Lexicon
