Biffle (Bob), Cowboy, and the Lynch-Boder Horseshoe-Bar Ranch, Indian Territory, Oklahoma, Correspondence File, 1950. Letter from Bartlett Boder, son of Louis Boder who owned the ranch and Herb Hamlin of the Pony Express Magazine, San Francisco, dated August 16, 1950. Letter describes the photo (91.1H.69) of Bob Biffle, Cowboy, who worked on the 55,000 acre Horseshoe-Bar Ranch, his brother, Quince Hunter, both handy with a gun who helped Campbell Lynch stave off trouble from the Miller Ranch over a line fence.
Biffle later made the Cherokee run, winning quarter section, traveled to Agency, Missouri and married Lynch's niece. He died in Orange, CA where his widow in 1950 still owned the Oklahoma quarter-section.
Lynch & Boder lost their land use rights when in 1888, the Cherokee nation took possession of lands previously leased. Lynch & Boder had an immediate round-up and transported their herd to Kansas City ahead of the glut that ensued, thereby, enjoying higher profits than those subsequently doing so.
