Marriage Records
Buchanan County Missouri Marriages of African Descent 1865-1874. This booklet was published by the Northwest Missouri Genealogical Society St. Joseph Missouri.
There was a law passed in Missouri February 20, 1865 permitting Blacks to marry. These marriages were recorded in the back of book "A" of Buchanan County Marriages.
In the booklet are the names of the couples marring and their children born to them before they received the certificate. At the back of the book is a male and female index in alphabetic order.
