Bound for the Promised Land was published by the National Frontier Trails Center in Independence, Missouri and tells the story of first Lewis and Clark and their expedition to the west coast and then of the various trails used by pioneers--the Oregon-California Trail, the Santa Fe Trail and the Mormon Trail. Written in story form, one follows explorers and pioneers experiencing the problems they faced on the long journey which included the changes in the weather and the Indians who, for the most part were not happy with strangers invading their land. Well done.
