Briggs, Caleb Estate Receipt from A. L. Leonard, 1849. Received From Caleb Briggs A. L. Leonard on December 31, 1849, $23 which he is to pay into the State land office in favor of a tract of land pre emptied by Joshua W. Redman on the Missouri River below St. Joseph as if I do not pay it at any time after one week from this time. I am to return to the said Briggs the money.
